SAP and Repeat Classes
What is Satisfactory Academic Progress?
SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) is the Federal standard students must meet in order to continue receiving Financial Aid. There are three categories.
- Pace: Students must pass 66% of attempted credits
- Qualitative: Students must maintain at least a 2.0 Cumulative GPA
- Quantitative: Students must complete a whole degree within 150% of the credits required for graduation
Will Financial Aid pay for a class more than one time?
Financial Aid will not pay for a repeated class if the student has already passed the class with a grade that will be counted toward graduation. There are exceptions to this rule if the grade is less than a "C". For example: COM-121 requires a "C" or higher to move on to COM-131 or COM-141. Financial aid will only pay for ONE repeat of any course.
